The Municipal Institute of People with Disabilities (IMD) is the body established by Barcelona City Council to promote policies and actions aimed at enabling people with disabilities of all kinds to pursue their life projects independently, in equal conditions and with respect .Our mission is based on recognition of the rights of people with disabilities and the conviction that they have an important contribution to make to society. In cooperation with representatives from associations and municipal departments and corporations, we aim to foster action to enable people with disabilities to enjoy real equal opportunities, become as self-reliant as possible and play a full role in city life.
We work to make Barcelona a city for all, an accessible, caring city, demonstrating solidarity and respect for people with disabilities.
